i wouldn't chance it, though i do see the gel stuff that comes with aquarium plants in tanks a petco. so maybe it will be harmless....but you never know. wait is it live or fake?

I wouldn't chance it, it's probably just to give the buyer an idea of what the plant would look like in a natural setting. If the plant was real and it was being stored in it that might be a different story, but as is I would rinse the fake plant thoroughly and get rid of that stuff.

I am pretty sure it is the BASE of the fake plant - you can't just rinse that off.
If it is compressed sand similar to what an airstone is made of, then it is fine. I don't see why it would be any less safe for a brackish tank than it would be for a freshwater tank.

Agreed with Kyryah...if its safe for FW it should be fine in BW as well.
