i dont have a pic yet but the RD is getting its cranal hump, and his fins are long and pointy(thats how i sexed it)
does anyone know what it could be i have no idea

i doubt the male laid the eggs, he was most likely fertizling them
theres a breeding pair in at my lfs, that i take some babies from them when i go in every time for free
they are extremely aggressive, they even went after me when i was siphonin the babies,
has to be eggs, wait a few days and u wil see tons of fry in ur tank

yeah thats the only thing i could think of just have to wait and see
Eggs wo't be a white color as much as they would be a translucent pearl color. If the eggs turn white the chances are that they were not fertilized. After a few days they will get a white fungus...furry looking...like you described.

I bet the big one is a female and the small is a male...... I had a large Midas (thought it was a male) which bred with a small male cyanoguttatum a few weeks ago. I would have sworn the Midas was a male, but she proved me wrong.

i know how it goes lol
thats for your help all we will see what happens
By "cranal hump" you mean the nuchal hump or are you describing the overall shape of the head? I mentioned the eggs only becasue "male" Citrinellum don't lay anything. If the fish in his tank put anything on a rock or a pot, it's female. The aggressive nature of the fish also points to the natural instinct of the protection of her breeding site.

yes it appers to be gettin a hump on its head like males do
Your best bet is to vent the fish. A nuchal hump isn't a guarantee of a male. SOme of the females will develop the same.

How do you "Vent" a fish? I'm not up with some of this terminology but am curious.
I have a light with a magnifying glass built in the frame. I flip the fish over and look at the the sex organs. More difficult with juveniles...and easier if you are checking multiple fish of the same species. It gives you a comparison.

In the old days I knew how to sex African Cichlids this way. But, no magnifier was needed, it was quite easy.
