One of my newly adopted kittens is very sick. Caught a cold (upper respritory disease) while in vets getting declawed. She was understandable miserable but ok on antibiotics until last night when she got very dehydrated and would not eat or drink. I've been up all night with her giving her water with a medicine dropper every hour. The vet clinic opens in 2 hours and will take her in right away. Please send up a prayer for Lucy to recover and come home to a long happy life with us. Thanks!

Hi all - here's an update on Lucy.

I took her to the vets at 6:45 a.m. and the vet gave her a big shot of fluids under her skin and will give her another shot this afternoon. He said the chances of a recovery were good as long as she started eating and drinking soon.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I will keep everyone updated when I have some news.

Had something similar happen to my Chihuahua when he was small every time the vet gave him sub-q fluids it looked like he had a small football under his skin. I think he had them twice if my memory serves me correctly so you may have to take kitty in again if she doesn't eat/drink properly right away.

My boy fully recovered and I have had him for 4 years now. I am hopeful your kitty will have the same good fortune. I will say a prayer for you.

God Bless!

Huffmagx: thank you for your uplifting words. I'm glad your puppy recovered and has a great life with you!

latest word from the vet is not good. Lucy is continuing to go downhill. She just doesn't seem to have any fight in her. It's not looking good right now. I will not be suprised if she doesn't make it through the night. Very sad day.

Lucy passed away. Advanced pnuemonia. Sad sad day.
