so I am just getting into the sw world and i have been doing a lot of research on the subject. Every thing i find on stocking though seems to be directed towards sw fish. I don’t like most salt water fish so i need some good suggestions on interesting inverts and numbers of them i can keep in my 60 gallon. 36l, 18w, 21h,

for fish, im planning on putting a spottail shrimp goby and some zebra dart fish.

Well I would say mantis but that wouldnt be friendly for the rest of youre stock. How about pistol shrimp and replace that goby with a watchmen goby

i have read a few things that say that spottail shrimp gobys form symbiotic relationships with pistol shrimp so i think im gonna go with that.
actually i thought shrimp gobys and watchmen gobys were the same thing

If you go with a pistol shrimp, I don't believe that you can have other shrimps. There is a video on the way show the pistol shrimp in its natural habitat and it uses its "pistol" to kill/stun a cleaner shrimp.

Perhaps you can go with unusual snails like the Queen Conch, Ninja Star and fighting conch. You could get a tuxedo urchin (I would avoid the long spine variety). WIth the pistol, I am not sure if you could get emerald crabs / porcelain crabs or not, or even hermits for that matter. Don't know much about the pistol shrimp.

I love my harlequin shrimp so look into those. a nice large mated pair (so interesting and personable)

50 gal huh? maybe a stretch but you only need 50 to keep an octopus but you are new so i would advise agaisnt that (even though they are possibly the coolest things you can keep)

A nice Pink tip anemone with a anemone shrimp would also be a good idea. or a Venus anemone shrimp instead.

Bumblebee shrimp

And i guess theres always tank bred sea horses if you can keep up on the feeding!
