All of my clown loaches have disappeared since yesterday! I thought it was wierd when I feed my tank that they didn't come out to eat so I sat there for 20 more minutes waiting. I still didn't see them so I stuck my hand in there and wiggled all the decorations. Still not loaches! So then I took out all of my decorations (very carefully of course in case they were hiding inside. STILL no loaches! I checked my hob (you never know), not there. Behind my heater, not there. There is no where else that they could be. I'm stumped! I don't remember seeing them earlier today either. I have been fighting ich in that tank. Is it at all possible that they all died on the same day and were eaten? I can not find any remains of any kind. The other fish in the tank are a common pleco, mollies, platies, gourami, silver dollars, tinfoil barbs, and tiger barbs. Could any of those fish have ate my loaches? I'm very upset at the moment. I love my little baby clown loaches. Please help!

They are inside of something. They can stick themselves to the inside of anything they can get into. Check again.

Theres one small area of a castle I can't see into because its so dark. Thats the only thing that I left in the tank just in case but honestly its the little tower part, I don't see how 3 clown loaches can fit in there. The are only 1 1/2 inches but its so small and narrow in there. I will check again though, thanks!

Just rechecked. Still can not find them! I'm going to do a water change and then break out the blood worms. If they dont come running for that then someone ate them! What else could it be?

I had my favorite guppy disappear for 3 days ( I have a heavily planted tank ) and then re-appear. I didn't think to much of it until he disappeared for the 2nd time for well over a week and a tank break down ensued. I figured he was dead or eaten but it was buggin' the c#@! out of me!!
He was trapped behind the bubble counter of my yeast based CO2 - I released him and he immediately begun to forage for food looking thin and ragged. He is the red one you can see in my avatar- affectionately called "Big Red"!

I hope you find them or at least figure out what happened to them - stuff like that can make you crazy!!

The thing is that there are 3 of them that are missing! I have been using quick cure for about a week and I think it was just too much for them. My tiger barbs had to have aten them. :(( I don't know where else they would be. I don't have anywhere else for them to hide.

they are great at hiding.
I have 7 in my 125, but you would never know it. they are usually most active right after the lights come on in the morning.. Take a look then, I am sure they are still in your tank.

YUP! Your right. I just snuck in there and saw one I turned on the light and the other 2 were right behind him. Where in the world did they hide at?? I am stumped! Its so wierd that they didnt even come out to eat. I tore everything apart looking for them! That's so crazy!

Quick Cure will kill Loaches quicker than you can do a water change. That's how I lost Loaches when I 1st got them. I never use that now, I always always use salt. Especially with Loaches.

i remember the first time i got clowns, i thought they were gone too. they are very good at hiding. i thought they jumped out of the tank, and the cat got them. its happened before.

i also freaked the first time i saw them laying on there sides. i thought they were dead.

i use Ick Guard II for scaleless fish, by Jungle. i have never tried salt.
