I was just looking at my aquarium and saw a baby lettuce nudibranch detach itself from the wall.
The current of the Vortech pump swooshed it around here and there in circles. It started getting sucked into the pump and I was like OH NO!!! It's going to get sucked in and shredded! It barely missed the side where the water gets taken in and curved around and got pushed out.
Then my puffer came and started looking at it like it was food...eyed it and followed it for a little...nervous time. It nudged it with its mouth and decided not to make a snack of it...phew!
Then it starts making its way towards the sand bed and my diamond spotted goby makes his appearance. He floats up to it and gobbles it up!!! So I'm standing there thinking umm...uh oh. What's going on? He's sitting there flapping his gills and looking like hes trying to swallow or chew it, then gets up and flips it right out from under his gills just like he does with the sand!
Then my leopard wrasse comes and takes a look at it and quickly turns around and slaps it with its tail...I don't know if it's by intention.
Then finally little nudi floats its way close to a rock, opens up from it's ball shape form and attaches to live rock...safe once again!
