Wondering why your classifieds threads are closed? Check this thread!

I'm curious as to why the forum is being cluttered with closed threads and/or posters are returning to the site expecting responses to a sale/want ad when instead they get a PM notice that it was deleted...when all it takes is a simple post to state the needed info (location, shipping, etc.) Just seems less efficient :huh:

edit: and I understand that standardization is helpful, to a point
 
Not much was changed in the rules, especially on closing them...
 
if you read the new classifieds rules, you will see that we are not allowing multiple threads for sellers when applicable (for instance a long standing sale thread, the seller can do a promotional sale thread, or secondary thread instead of it all being required to be consolidated into one). In order to keep the section easy to read and understand with these additional threads, we are asking that ALL titles of threads as of today have the item for sale, locations, and shipping/pick up listed to make the section easier to navigate. The rules are largely the same, and the announcement and rules have been in palce for awhile. we are just enforcing them as of today, MAN wide.
 
One thing I noticed was changed, that to me does not make sense, is that I believe it used to be if a thread was inactive for 30 days, it was closed, but now a thread is closed after 21 days, even if it was active the day before. I went to post feedback on a thread that had been up since february, and it was closed, I believe because it was too old.
 
Just for example...Squawkberts thread said very explicitly that all his prices include USPS shipping and his location is easily viewed as part of his profile yet his thread is closed because he didnt list price or location? Just seems like way more trouble than its worth...all Im sayin
 
The rules for putting it in the FS thread are more helpful to a member...buyers should not have to look elsewhere for info...

closed because they need location and shipping info? come on its clearly stated where the OP lives and they specifically asked for a PM for shipping obviously because theyd rather do pickup. Im just confused why this is suddenly being enforced :confused:
