i have 2 or 3 of these plants in my 180, they dont seem to be growing and are covered in i think beard algae, ive now just read some advice saying they are not true aquatic plants. should i remove them from my aquarium? will they be doing any harm in there, ive just noticed that a few of their leaves are sort of melting from the tips down, they are falling apart in places.

they wont do any harm, but you can take them out and plant them in your yard. these are known as mondo grass, also sold at your local home and garden center (home depot, lowe..)

thanks for that, yes i will take them out, they really dont seem to be doing well completely submerged. it really annoys me that they sell these type of plants as fully aquatic when they arent. il plant them out in my garden and see how they do,thank you.

After looking at pictures, it looks just like the stuff that is growing outside my house next to the driveway.
