Hi all,

The LFS has a few Desert Gobies in atm, I really like these little guys and was wondering what sort of water conditions they prefer and how others have gone with keeping them.

They would be going into a 90L community currently with 9 Neon Tetras and 4 Kuhli loaches.

They're very adaptable, but keep in mind that desert gobies will try to eat fish half their size.

Keep them in hard/alkaline water, other than that, they're pretty easy. They're also among the easiest of egglayers to breed.

It's great to see someone interested in keeping fish native to their own country! Too often we ignore what's under our noses for some exotic import.

I wasn't aware these guys were native to Aus.

Thanks for the replies guys, my parameters are already suitable for them. Just got to get it planted and finished with the aquascaping first.

Ok, went and picked up 2 from the lfs, I reckon they are both males. I also ordered a M+F pair from the not so local fish shop, so hopefully they will be able to get them in soonish.

Gobies have to be some of the most awesome fish around, very entartaining to watch.

Will post pics soon.
