Lately I've started talking to mine (when my wife is not around to hear). Am I the only one? Should I be worried? They have not answered me back yet..... ;)

I have certainly been known to talk to the fish, trying without result to get them to do what I want rather than what they elect to do. Such as Cherry Barbs which want to explore inside the gravel vac tube while I am partialing - a high risk practice for them.

I have also been known to yell and cuss at them or their tank components, but I am aware that this is stress release for me, not really aimed at them.

Why do you think blonds goes to bed with their hair wet?
It is because they kiss their fish good night.

:) ;)

I admit it, I talk to my fish. Usually berating them for not cooperating, or telling the kuhli's they do not need to have more children.

Of course I talk to my fish. How else would they learn their names? My cories are Tom, ****, Harry & Jessie and mollies are Molly Sue and Molly Belle.

I say hello to my male betta, Larry whenever I walk by his tank.

I also grumble not-to-nice stuff to fish who make themselves difficult to catch...

Other than that, I don't really talk to them.

I only scream and shout and swear things to make a sailor blush to my fish and more frequently (and recently) at the plants, whenever I have to do any work in the tank. Little b******s are always such a pain when I'm trying to do water changes, as you know, RTR. ;)

Other than that, I usually say "hello" in the mornings and "goodnight" in the evenings, but that's about all. My fiance thinks I'm nuts, but that's okay, I probably am. :D

Sometimes I'll say 'Good morning fish" when I turn on the lights in the morning. Or I'll say something like "Chow time" or "You guys hungry?" when feeding them. My girl friend says 'Hello fishies" whenever she walks over to the tank.

I usually say "hey guys" or something like that to them when I go over to them. I usually tell the smalest yo-yo loach to look to his left or right, wherever food has fallen past him without him noticing.

I talk baby talk to my fish. "Hey fishy wishies!" "Are you hungry wungry?"

I also say hello and goodybye whenever i walk by the tanks. Sometimes i talk to each individual fish, but thats usually when one of them is doing something bad or strange.

I often yell at them when i can't catch them. Stupid fish. lol :D

I don't talk to them, but I will swear and yell at my male Jag everytime he bites my when I clean his tank. I guess maybe that would be talking to my Fish.

Of course who doesn't talk to their fish at some point. I have names for all 21 of mine, and talk to em all the time. They may not care about your BS like the next guy, but they'll still hang out with ya. :p :D

No need for words. We communicate telepathically.

I agree with Rometiklan, they are telepathic. They see a plate of shrimp coming and, well we're happy dad, don't care what you got to say. That's telepathic. LOL :D

Definitely talk to my wet friends from time to time - I will only worry about this once they start answering back.

Love the avotar pic LuvMyKribs.

I talk to them like I would any other pet. I say hello, call them by name if they have one, scold them for being bad and ask my big Midas, Sweetie, for kisses. :D
