Some guy who is tired of the fish hobby is selling me a 50 gallon hexagon tank for 25 bucks. It comes with everything, even the fish. I will post photos as soon as possible.

what do I have to worry about with it?

absolutely nothing, im sure its a great deal but when you buy a tank thats really tall and not wide, you are limiting what you can put in it. For example in a 4 foot long tank you can have boesmani rainbowfish because they have the space to swim back and forth, but if I am correct about hex's, you cant have fast swimming space loving fish even if the tank can fit the same amount of h20. Get it? Something like an Angelfish would be great in a tank like a Hex.

Well of course. I thought maybe there were some bigger problems. haha. I actually think he has angel fish in there right now.

I was actually thinking about doing shell dwelling cichlids.

if the footprint of the tank is as large as a ten gallons than it would be no problem for shellies, not sure if they are compatible with angels tho

Well I would be getting rid of all the other fish in there.

It was filthy, but it only took me 10 minutes to clean it. The fish are in my moms tank. I will post more pictures when it is fixed up.

What the heck should I put in here?

I was thinking of shell dwellers unless I can think of something more interesting. Maybe a puffer?

Angels will look better IMHO they are a taller body fish and the tank will compliment them more. My mom had a 35 hex and thats what she had in there with a big ol' amazon sword and an awesome piece of driftwood and it set the tank and fish off nicely. Personally I would do shellies in like a 20 long if I were you.

The thing is, I already have a south american planted tank. I was thinking of doing something a little different.
