Some of my stem plants are getting a little bit too tall already, So, I want some more stems in my tank. WHen I trim the steam, can I plant them again to get another plant?

Thanks

If you cut off the stem and leave the original plant, the leaves below cut will probably die but new shoots will emerge at the cut.

Ok,thanks, so If I cut the stem all of the leaves will die? I think thats what you meant. But new ones will grow from the original plant?

Yep. I've had to do major pruning about once every 2 weeks. Now i tend to trim 8-10 inches from the top, pull the bottoms out of the substrate, and replant the trimmed tops. Because my substrate is sand, there's not a whole lot of nutrients in it, so the stems tend to send out lots of roots into the water column. After awhile it gets out of hand and impede sightlines, and that's when i trim the tops, and pull the bottoms out.
