My friend is looking at making his 75 gallon magenese fish tank. He has hang on back filter and going be putting 2 400B filters on it. He has stock lighting. What lighting should he get for low light plants? Can we use his flourseces or make them into a cfl light fixture? Also what all would he really need for it.

ahsupply.com has retrofit cfl kits.
What's a "magenese" fish tank?
Biowheel filters are crap and a waste of money. Biowheels were designed to be large aquaculture filters and they didn't work very well there either and were replaced with bead filters. Don't waste your money.
Hagen Aquaclear filters are the best HOB filters on the market bar none. Most of mine have been in service well over 10 years.

I didn't mean to have 2 of same posts up but on the other one members told me that fish will tear the plants up, so I'm going have to tell my friend he can't do it to that tank. Also he has a aquaclear on it with another hang on back I was just going give him my 2 400B filters cause I don't need them and figure it be more filteration for him. Thank though for replying!
What is a magenese?
A 2x32W T8 shop light from Lowes would work fine, they cost about $15 or $20 excluding the bulbs.
