Who had the original iphone and recently upgraded to the iPhone 3GS??

tell me your experience and other random stuff about it,

sorry to make this random thread im bored =P

I dont have an iphone because, other than poverty, I hate AT&T with a passion. I do know one thing I like about it is that in addition to a better camera, they have an oil-repellent screen on it now, which should be nice.

i guess this is why you are selling all your video game stuff...

My girlfriend and one of my friends has the 3gs. I still have the 3g because I'm not eligible for upgrade at the discounted price yet, and I refuse to spend 400 on it or whatever ridiculous price they're asking standard. If your asking the difference between the 3gs and the original they don't even compare. The difference between the 3g and 3gs are minimal, but I still want the new-new.

I believe that the major differences are:
better battery life
oil resistance screen
compass, which allows programers a whole new spectrum to play with as far as apps
better camera with macro
and video with built in video trimming which is nice

all other upgrades are through software, so if you have a 3g you just need to update unless you feel like you cant live without the above mentioned
you can check apple.com to get more info

I didn't own, but i did fool around with my friend's 3g. I finally got myself a 3gs and I'm very happy with it.

Not sure if it's worth upgrading, but it is significantly faster than the 3G... Camera works nicely, video option is great... And I love the new compass feature. Seems like a small thing, but it opens up many doors on developers to make programs that work with the compass.

One thing I'm not happy about is the new screen... It isn't as "antiscratch" ad the reg. 3g phone is .. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that oil resistant thing they put on the screen. I never dropped the phone, but the other day I noticed a couple of small scratches on the screen. I was very surprised, as I haven't seen this on the 3G iphone.

I think the speeds vary. I've had my 3g side by side with a 3gs and sometimes mine would load a web page faster and sometimes the 3gs would, and they were both on the same wifi. Overall though the 3gs is noticeably faster as far as general operation, how fast apps open, etc. As far as scratches go I can vouch for the screen on the 3g. I've actually taken a key to mine several times to show others how scratch resistant it is.
