Ive had a pair of rainbow cichlids for over a year (although I thought they where both male) and they recently spawned in my 90 gal tank so I moved them to my 30 gal and took the firemouths and dainos that where in it to my 90 so they could have a safe tank to spawn in. Anyway I want to put some low light plants in there now that the dainos are gone and was looking for some suggestions. I only have about 1 watt per gallon but the tank gets a good amount of light from a nearby window. I am currently trying some hardy aponogeton and some dawrf lily-hybrid ulvaceus. I will prorbably only put one or two more plants in there being as I dont plan to fertalize that often and am not going to do a co2 system but and suggestions or links would be appreciated.

You could try anacharis, java ferns and java moss. That is very little lighting though, not sure if the plants would have enough to properly photosynthesize.

My Lutea & Anubias seem to be doing alright in low light conditions so far.

My dad's java fern grow well at 1.5 watts per gallon and things are still going well since one bulb went and he has 15 watts in a 20 gallon tank.

I'm growing Amazon Swords, Pygmy chain swords, Rubin Swords, several Anubias varieties, Crypts, Crystal Vals, Onion plants, Water sprite, and Red Tiger Lotus under 1.2 watts per gallon and all are thriving.
