Hi, im about to purchase a tiger salamander from my LFs. IT has no abbraisons, missing limbs or cuts or discoloration on it as far as i can see. Ive watched multiple videos on how to care for them and what kind of environment they have to live in, but whats the best substrate, food, and anything best for the salamander? the videos dont compare to others expertise. please help. i dont want to just have a general knowledge on them and not know what to do.

thanks for the responses in advance

I would keep the salamander on Eco-Earth as they like to dig and they hide most of the time. Keep the substrate moist but not wet. Don't use any heat. Depending on the size of the salamander will determine what sized food items it can take. Try various sized crickets, chopped worms, fruit flies, etc...
