What PH level and temp range do you keep the Chili Rasboras at? I've read that in the wild, they stay at a PH level of 4 or lower and that they're hard to acclimate to aquarium conditions.

I keep them in 6.4-6.8. They're really not hard to acclimate into an aquarium at all... o_O Not sure where that info came from, but I know many people who keep them even above 7.0 (around 7.4-7.8 range!)
So there's nothing to worry about ;-)

That's great. My PH is 7.4-7.6. They would be in my 55 with CPD's, GBR's, Scarlet Badis', & 3 SAE.

This is a great guy to deal with. I bought some CPD's from him a few months ago and he was super patient with my 100 questions! haha Gets my highest recommendation!!!
Man, those CPDs are really, REALLY tempting...

See Pee Dee anyone?
Yado,
How large should a school of CPDs be? Could one do a small school of 4? Would they do okay sharing a tank with a male betta?

How big is the tank? I would normally recommend a minimum of 6 per school of any fish if you want them to swim together. But if you don't really care much for that, 4 will be fine. I have kept them in groups of 4 before, when CPDs first came out and they were charging an arm and a leg for them. They didn't really shoal together as much as I thought they would. CPDs in general don't school much to begin with, but when they grouped up, it was usually in pairs and rarely all four together.
Anyway, bottom line is, yes, you can do 4 if you want. But I would recommend more if you have the tank space for it.
