Hey all, Its been a while since i've posted. so i think you all deserve at look at my 2 meter tank!

took me a while to decide to upgrade to this one. actually, it was just a matter of finding the right one for my livin room.

just a quick equipment list:

600 liter tank!
6 x T8 bulbs (2x 3 feet blue actinics, 4 x 4 foot white bulbs)
3 x powerheads
Oceanrunner 2500 protein skimmer
1x JBL 900 canister filter
1x JBL 1500 Canister filter

Livestock:
approx 60 Kgs of live rock
2 Percula clowns
3 Yellow Tangs (getting along very nicely, no bullying)
2 Cardinal
2 Cow fish
1 foxface
1 orange spotted Gobi
1 psychedelic Mandarin
1 sea cucumber
1 juvenile lionfish (adopted it from a friend who dropped out of the hobby, GORGEOUS FISH)
1 Regal tank
1 lipstick
1 carpet anemone
big cluster of watermelon mushroom corals
cluster of 3 hammer corals
big cluster of leather mushroom corals
1 aptesia (that bugger just WONT DIE!!!)
clean up crew
1 brown starfish

pics!

the bad news is:

I got back from work yesterday only to find that the regal has got a bad case of whitespot! not having a quarantine tank setup (kid broke the old one), i rush to ACE and picked up 2 big buckets to use as QTs. made new water, put in the Waterlife Cuprazin solution, filter, aerator...and....i cant catch any of the fish! i got a maze of live rock ! no way in hell im gonna take all the rock out and catch em! so i asked a buddy of mine (who owns the biggest and most reliable LFS here in dubai...not a bias opinion...i promise!) for some advice...he said there are 4 things you can really do

1: drop the salinity to around 22 and hope for the best
2: sacrifice the live rock, corals and inverts by treating the main tank with medication
3: get 5 or 6 cleaner wrasse and shrimp which "could" do the trick. worked for his home tank
4: take out all the rock and catch the damned fish!

and maybe 5:

use 1 and 3...if they fish dont make it...let the tank sit for a few weeks until the ich dies off...and he'll replace the stock.

hmmmm....im quite attached to my fish actually!

Wow..
Very Nice!!

Have you tried to lower the water level and use the 2 net method for catching pesky fish?

there we go! post edited!

Zigman, even if i did bring the water level down i got two problems

1: i dont have enough containers to hold that much water!! hahaha
2: they would still hide around the back of the rocks at the back of the tank! no way...bait and hook? hahaha

Alright mate just make a net that will fit across and to the bottom of your tank then move your end peaces of rock get some one at one end of your tank with a net to move your fish to the other end and drop the net behind them you might get them one or two at a time but you will get them i did when i did mine.
