i wanted to set up the whole bamboo root thing in my betta tank but i wasnt sure about how to set up the bamboo.

this babmoo grows quite a bit above the water level. just thought you should know that if you didnt already :)

I have some rather large bamboo, but I have the bottom 3" in sand in a glass bowl in the bottom of my betta tank. The water is about 12" high, and the top 2 feet of the bamboo is out of the water. Since planting this way, the bamboo has shot of hundreds of roots below the waterline, attempting to claim as much of the tank as possible. http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200315

Just be sure that the tank is at least 2.5 gallons and that the tank has lots of access to air for air exchange.

I have three little sprouts of bamboo, that came in a decorative pot, that have three more peices growing off of the original peices, would you just plot it in the gravel? Or should I incorporate some of the original gravel, that came in the pot?
