Really thinking on this because when the snails are gone
Is there a way I can balance loaches and snails...so the loaches will always have food
any loaches school with corys???
that way I dont have to purchase four or five..I can get two or three and they will school with the corys///

From what I have read, kuhli loaches do not eat snails. I would recommend yo-yo loaches, great snail eaters, great personalities, and grow to about 4"-5".

I have heard that yo yo's or clowns are my best options, but they grow too big and I have a nice of group of bottom dwellers already.

4 otos
amano shrimp

How big is your tank?
From the sounds of it, dwarf puffers are really the only small enough snail eaters out there for your tank. They would probably try to eat your amano shrimp though, so they are most likely out of the picture.
You might want to try putting a piece of lettuce on the bottom of your tank one night, then removing it and hopefully most of the snails the following morning.

I have a 75 gal...Live plants
Right now I have just
4 green corys
4 otos
amano shrimp
7 flame tetra/von rio tetra
I would like to add
2or 4 juvie angels DD Black angels
school of Pseudomugil signifer or Celebs Rainbow
German Rams
Thats why I am limited to selection...
If I go clowns...I will have to get them as small as possible
I do have a 150 gal that I will start up soon..so I guess I can move the clowns over there

A small shoal of yo-yo's should be fine in there then, maybe 3 or so.
They get bigger, but weather loaches are great for eating snails as well.

I agree with the Yo-Yo's. Dwarf Puffers will pick at everything possible so they do best in a species only tank. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

LOL, too big. They get to be a max of 5". I would get at least 3 or 4 and you will be completely fine. Clowns will get too big, not yo-yos.
I love my loaches, but in a tank that big i think it would be cool to do a LOT of cory cats. They basically all shoal together, and with that big of a footprint you would do one or two of every kind of cory you find attractive.

Anyway, hope this helps and good luck. dwarf puffers are some really evil little fellows...i used to feed mine small ghost shrimp, but i got really creeped out watching him pick off the eyes before gouging the rest of them...creeeeeeepy. wouldn't recommend them for anything other than a species tank.

there is another smaller loach than the yoyo...
it is botia striata called sargent major loach or as my lfs calls them indian dwarf loach... the largest they get would only be 3 inches or so.. mine is 2 1/2 inches
and I got mine to deal with snails and he did clean up well
