Try some sinking food- not pellets, they are too big. Mine love raw shrimp- just thaw in vitamin water and rip small pieces off. Will also eat brine shrimp. Mine clean up after the puffer they are in with (actual will steal shrimp from the puffer- they are quicker than him).
Crushed snails, tubifex worms, mosquito larva, gel foods, daphnia and commercial foods are taken easily.:)

I have found that ours really love the "HBH Super Soft Sinking Krill" pellets. They are fairly small pellets and like the name says soft. Ours can easily break apart the pellets, even the mini squiggle (he's about 1.25 inches). We give them this along with blood worms and other frozen foods.

Mine like the wardleys shrimp pellets, they break apart and sink. They also really like algae wafers.

when i feed my other fish flake food and bloodworms, they seem to come out and eat whatever floated down to the bottom
