and brought home 18 nice sized crabs on Friday. Today was the crab fest..... as yummy as they are, they sure do a number on keeping your hands smelling like crabs for the rest of the night.... no matter how raw your hands are after the 100th time you've washed them!

Wash your hands with salt, quite a bit, and dish detergent.

this place in Redbank, Pink.... I forget the name of it... it's a place where you rent these cardboard like boats at the side of this bridge. There's a nicer place to go but that would remove the whole experience, you know?

I'm sure nothing beats the experience of being on a cardboard boat...

... well- besides being on a boat made of large salt crystals joined together by water-soluable glue! ;)

Mr Doll is fortunate, not every woman would be happy about her man bringing home crabs... :hitting:

Hey DD.......is there an ulterior motive to sending Mr. Doll out into the open water with a "cardboard like" boat?;)

I love blue crabs but they sure are a pain to clean without an air compressor.

BTW Doll, make a paste of baking soda, Dawn and peroxide, wash your hands with it, gets the smell out of anything...even works on skunk-sprayed dogs.

I used to live with the smell--I kinda like it. We'd get hundreds when I was little, but I used to live in a community of fishermen, crabbers, and shrimpers. They'd bring 50-100 lbs of shrimp, craw(cray)fish, or crabs in giant coolers. It was always really fun to pick through it and see what other odd things ended up with them.

hmmm..... good to know for next time, Mark... and I am sure there will be a next time, and so on, and so on, and so on... and wonderful for skunk... just in case. I remember my dog getting sprayed in the face and the smell was around for weeks.... all the tomato juice in the world didn't help. And when I went to work the next day, I sat at my desk and a colleague walks in... I ask her if she smelled anything weird and she's like yeeeeaaaaah.... I'm like... I gotta go... took the next couple days off LOL

growing up, we had them a lot too, Amphi and I have to say, crabs cooking on the stove sure makes it smell like the shore.

Red Bank! I think I know exactly where you mean - on the Navesink River. My dad and brother are members of the Monmouth Boat Club very close to there. Woot!
