I have a 30g acrylic tank and Iam wondering if anyone has had experience modifying these. What I want to do is chop the top off and have it rimless because Im trying to get one of those lights soon with the legs that will support it. I want to make sure the tank will still be able to support all that water without the top tying it together. If anyone has had any experience please lemme know.

thanks

If it was built with a frame there's probably a good reason! How thick is the acrylic?

Sounds too thin. I wouldn't cut it.

K thanks guys. I have seen those lights a couple times but wasnt sure if I could use them on my tank

dont cut it unless you want to ruin the tank just get acrylic tank legs for your lights. i have a few tru vu acrylic tanks pain in the azz to clean compared to glass tanks which have open tops and are easy to get into.
