Hey fellow ACers,

Right now I am in my junior year of high school, and have taken interest into the AFROTC program for colleges.

I was just wondering if any of you guys had any experience with it, and how I should prepare. I realize that I am not as physically fit as they want me to, and will use the next year to train myself.

I would also like some tips on improving fitness, as right now I'm sort of just...skinny and weak XD.

Presuming you go into the military here's my tips:

Run, run, ah, RUN, and so some more running.
My brothers in the airforce right now, and every other day he has to run 3 miles in under 25 minutes. Hes a civil engineer for them too, nothing too hard at all haha.

Seriously, you'll eat, breathe and sleep in pushups, situps, and running while in bootcamp, also while your active duty (can anyone say PT? :] )

I advise you to eat lots of protein and get some meat on you, because once you finally get into the military, you'll need all the extra fat you can get. Don't eat cheeseburgers, eat a lot of grilled chicken and veggies to get in shape. If it's not too late, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you join a sport, like wrestling, or football (you probably won't play much, but practice will get you in amazing shape, especially wrestling)

For the ROTC program, I'm speculating that it's like highschool ROTC (somewhat) They'll probably just run you and drill you in marching. Possibly teach you some basic things too. I don't really know on the ROTC portion, because I don't know what they will want to do with you... basic marching, or mini bootcamp?
