Thats pretty much it..When coralline algae starts to die away, its usually pointing too a deficiency in trace elements.. Can you post your latest water parameters for Calcium, Alk and Mag please, and we shall take it from there..

Agreed. If calcium and alkalinity are in check, then chances are a magnesium deficiency is to blame.

Did you happen to add/upgrade your lighting? Or maybe switched salts or slacked up on water changes? Maybe added an urchin?
Oh, and quit yelling, I have a hang over.

Can you see the little star fish?

Those shouldn't affect coralline to any extent. With water parameters out of the way, could you also answer zoakeeper's questions, which could also contribute to the coralline problems.

No everything else is exactly the same, I must just add that this must be happening really slowly, because it is only comparing photos from afew months ago that I can see a difference

Its very possible that a few have been hidden in the rock work, then started to reproduce to levels that make them visable...

My coraline grows well but I have thousands of those little star fish. They eat my coraline like crazy. =)

I had heard about that, what do you feed them after they are all gone? I would love for those silly stars to be gone. They were a pretty cool novelty at first and the kids liked them. Then they turned from 10's to 100's to 1000's and munch on every bit of coraline they can find.
