I have been keeping flowerhorns for quite a while but I always loved goldfish.. I find these fish cute and innocent so I decided to convert my 75 gallon tank into a goldfish show tank! :woot: The tank has 9 goldfish, the size of the goldies range from 2 inches to 4 inches, I dont expect them to grow more than an inch or two... The tank has good filtration and I change 30% water every 3 days...
Here are some pics....

Why don't you expect them to grow more than that? They have the potential to reach 10 inches, like kyryiah's Mei (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2116221&postcount=14) (<< clicky).
They are cutiepies by the way. :)

Most of the goldies that I have seen in my country dont grow much mainly because they are kept in really small tanks for a long while before being sold.. Ignorant LFS people and less selling space often lead to stunting...
Also I believe that goldfish that are sold in the market are of various grades and qualities.. The good grade fish (with supported genetics) grow more and fish that dont have the required genetics will not grow a lot...
If they do grow more then I will be happy, but I dont expect them to grow much..However there is enough space in the 75 gallon tank, I will not be adding any more goldies since I dont want to overcrowrd the tank, I added 9 only to please my family, my original plan was to add 4 - 5 goldfish...
I had picked up 2 goldfish about 4 months ago and the were living in a 25 gallon tank.. they were 1.5 inches when I got them and they are 2 inches now...
Thank you for calling them cute ;) :D

thank you! :)
You'll be surprised how much these fish will still gain in body growth when they are kept in bigger tanks especially when the stunting factors are eliminated and proper care provided. Some of your fish don't appear stunted to me. The eyes being one of all the body organs that grow quickly and the most noticeable of all indicators, look rightly proportioned with some of your orandas and the black moor. A high protein based diet and plenty of water changes will allow them to gain a lot of growth spurts.;)

They eat Hikari Oranda and other Hikari products... I am planning to start feeding them spirulina pellets tomorrow, I have the pellets with me... If they do grow then for their best interest I shall give half the goldfish to people with large enough tanks and I shall keep just 3 - 4 goldfish. I do not want to keep all of them if I cannot take care of their needs...
Of course I also have 4 x 65 gallon tanks so I can shift a few there also.... but I think for 2 - 3 months I shall keep them in this tank since as of now they are small and if I move them my family will question me to death :D
Its nice to know that people care for goldfish, one of the main reasons I love this forum :)
I do have a question, I have heard from some one here that Hikari cichlid products are good for goldifsh, it seemed odd to me hence I thought of asking you all..

i don't know about cichlid food but they enjoy having some ruffage in their diet like peas and lettuce. mine also liked brocolli but it's messy so i'd only do it before water changes
