so i just brokedown my 29 gallon and set it up again. black flourite, driftwood and the same plants from before.
i set up the tank without water in it, i burried the driftwood a little and when i added the water... instant boat. will it ever settle down?

It should eventually. Do you know what type of driftwood it is? Some take longer than others. Others like Malaysian Driftwood sink right away.

here is the tank. the piece in question is the one with the slate on it.
i dont know what kind it is.

so what do you think about the setup? let me know what you think. please don't be too critical. it's in its prelimanary stages, just set it up yesterday

if you can boil that wood till it sinks. if not maybe attach slate to the bottom for now.

tank looks sharp.

I have given up on some wood that refused to sink after months of soaking (remember the big reservior piece?) Might be faster with your skinnier wood, it looks cool. Not sure about the left wood, it's hard to see. Good start on the plants, what foreground are you planning?

Looks good. It'll look even better when the slate is gone or placed elsewhere.

it looks like bog wood. No clue on how long it will take. Did you buy it in a fish store or find it?
