I knew I was taking a chance by ordering my fish from aquabid.com but I would of never expected the blatant disregard for packaging, and shipping a live pet.
The user on Aquabid.com known as
[Name removed.]
For one took 2 weeks after I paid for the fish, to finally contact me about shipping them, then took another week to actually ship them. Then he promised I would have the fish by Wednesday of this week, well lets just say they finally arrived 5 minutes ago, all DEAD. The way they were packaged and shipped was total disrespect for any living creature. The guy made a cheap, crappy, generic Styrofoam enclosure and used regular scotch tape to hold it together.
The I email him and tell him they arrived DEAD, and he tells me "Oh well, once the postman picks them up, they are no longer my concern".
Says, he desn't issue refunds, nor will send me live fish, says I have to pay for a whole new shipment of new fish. I spent $35 dollars on these fish, and this seller just doesn't care they arrived dead.
So if you use Aquabid.com stay away from this guy.
Here's some pics of my poor dead fish :angryfire::mad::angryfire:

Hmmm curious did you bother to check this guys feedback rating??? It is good practice not to purchase from people who have low feedback ratings such as new sellers or from someone who has bad feedback. Ive seen some nice fish on there and will back away from bidding if they dont got much feedback. Just my 2 cents.
Sorry bout the loss though I know how it feels to get dead fish in the mail from a aquabid user granted in my case I was issued a full refund as stated I would in the auction minus shipping of course. Better luck next time.

Wow. while I dont agree with posting his name on here, I know you are upset. That really does suck. Have you tried contacting him at all and telling him about how you are concerned about packaging? IMO, I would tell him I was concerned with the packaginag as it may have been one of the resulting factors in the death of the poor fishies.
Too bad about the aquabid thing.
That why Im glad ebay punishes sellers hardcore and same with paypal

He has an amazing rating on the site, he's got a 97% rating, how could you not respect a 97% rating, and then he does this, and I was prepared to spend thousands with him to stock a new 300 gallon tank that just finished cycling.

Are you serious here? Not post his name, so the rest of you respectful people in the hobby can get taken advantage of by this guy, no way. His name needs to be posted so people know exactly who not to deal with on Aquabid.com

Well the site can block me, kick me off, or do whatever I really don't care at this point.
I dont see an issue posting this guys user name on aquabid I could understand if his actual name was being posted then fine but user name??? Wouldnt that put us in the wrong for posting a website and the websites owners name on here which has been done before without complaints???
97% hmmmm how many transactions has he had and how many of those negs are recent??? I look into all of that and find out what the negs were about before ordering.

Thanks for posting his name, now I know who not to buy from. From his rating people would still buy from him but now that you posted a name that's unlikely.

I have only just started sending a few of my babies out via the post to other folks and I know I hold my breath every time I drop them off at the PO. I also PM the folks to let them know their pkg. shipped ( and a tracking # if applicable) and wait to hear back that all was delivered well... of course you want to make sure the person was happy with what they got ect.
I can't understand a seller/trader that has no regard for his/her fish/inverts! It is heartbreaking (for me anyway) when you put so much of yourself into something only to have it ruined by a "bad delivery". I wish I could hand deliver all of my babies!!!
I for one do check the ratings and feedback and order warily I have received some pretty good stuff off aquabid in general but I prefer the folks on AC - better stuff all around!
Thanks for the heads up on this guy and I am really sorry about the fish ( the seller should be too!!!)
I agree file a dispute try to get your money back and good luck.

File a dispute with paypal I am sure you can get your money back, especially if you have kept emails from him stating when they were suppose to be shipped versus when they actually where shipped. As far as posting names I do agree that we as a community should be made aware of bad experiences and with whom they occured however it would be my guess his name won't last long before it is edited out, just AC rules and we must abide by them.

Mike, it's a terrible shame you had such a negative experience with the seller. Be sure you open a dispute and/or file a claim against this seller in the Paypal Resolution Center. That's the recourse you have available to seek a refund in this transaction.
Please respect the family friendly nature of this site. Profanity in any form will not be tolerated. We also do not allow bashing posts about other individuals, businesses, or websites - by name - for any reason no matter how strongly someone may feel about it. Anyone who's interested in the seller's name is welcome to PM the OP directly.
Discussion or debate about site policy is not the topic of this thread. Further discussion along those lines will result in this thread being closed.
Thank you for your cooperation.

The proper course as earlier stated is to file with PayPal and to post negative feedback on the site where you purchased from. Posting name, etc here does little good to resolve the issue and simply becomes a flame.
I would be just as upset as you are had it happened to me and I understand how you might feel.
From the pictures it looks like all 6 are in one bag. Tell me it ain't so!

I'm thinking maybe the seller was ticked off that they didn't go for a better price, but that's no excuse for bad packing or the DOA's. What was the postmark on the package dated? I have had a couple packages get "lost" in the mail, but they did turn up eventually.

Aww man I missed everything, PM me the seller if you can please. Also im interested in what you were looking at dropping that amount of coin on to stock your 300.

What a jerk. IMO the only thing done by not allowing his name to be posted is allowing bad businesspeople to stay in the game. I have had awful experiences with sellers with high ratings before as well, some of which even post here. IMO, checking feedback rating is not enough. Always gotta check what people were dissatisfied with, and also the people leaving feedback. If someone with a good feedback score is displeased, it means a lot more than someone who is a serial complainer. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Even more sorry you are being forced to protect the reputation of the guilty party. People like that give the whole aquarium hobby a bad name.
