i received an marineland aqua-reminder for Christmas. which if some of you haven't heard of one it is a little digital thing that reminds you to do maintenance stuff to your fish tank. well there are four presets which are change filter cartridge, clean gravel bed, partial water change, and filter maintenance, and then two blank ones that i thought about using for replacing co2 diy bottles and fertilizing plants. so is there any that you guys that have been in this hobby for awhile would change to something different and if so what would you change it to? thanks Greg

Your selection sounds good to me! ;)
I finally broke down and bought one from Drs. Foster and Smith back in November because while I had a good routine down for my fish room, the additional tanks in the hallway, living room, and bedroom were often neglected...not to the point of poor health for the fish, but I would skip a few days before remembering something needed to be done.
Anyway, I have only added one additional "chore" and thats 'add plant fertilizer'. I love my aqua-reminder! :)

Your choices seem to make good sense. You can always change it later if you find something more pressing.
I looked at these units, but found that I could do the same thing by setting up a personal yahoo group. I use the calendar to schedule all of the recurring maintenance and have it send me email reminders. I also post messages to the group to keep a history log of my tanks.
It works out great and offers a nice search function which is useful when wanting to look up when you bought some equipment or added a new fish to your aquarium. It's also kinda fun and gives you the feeling of being more "on top" of things.
I let others browse the group, but they cannot post messages:
