ok well, now that I'm college I'm in deep need of money and have absolutely no free time now a days, so because of this I will be holding off on my fish keeping hobby for quite some time. :(

I plan on selling absolutely everything, and was just wondering how much I should price everything at.

What I'll be selling is:
60 Gallon Tank with glass hood
Wooden stand
Simple stock lighting
3 HOB filters (20-40 Whisper, 200 Bio-Wheel, and a Topfin 60)
ALOT of ornaments, such as fake plants, a bridge, and 1 small fake piece of drift wood, and 1 large decorative piece of fake driftwood.
50 lbs of Black gravel
and lost of assorted accesories (nets, large variety of food, testing supplies, meds, and a bottle of flourish)
and also 2 air pumps, 1 rated for 10 gallons and 1 rated for 60 gallons

it saddens me having to do this, but lack of available time and lack of money calls for drastic measures, I will surely return to the hobby right after college but right now Im unable to support a tank at this time.

So what do you all think would be a fair price for all of this?? Im not looking to over charge but am trying to get the most that I can.

i would check your local craigslist and see what tanks in your area are selling for here in calif now they are almost giving them away in my area.

yeah it's hit and miss really. I sold my bare 55 with hood and stand, (nice maroon stained) for 200. And I was getting mad emails. That was a few years ago, now people are selling tank, stand, filters for around 100-150. It all depends on whats posted and how many tanks are posted online. Now that I think about it I also got a like new 75 with stand for 100 bucks that same week.

But I'd try stand,lights, tank for 150obo
You can probably ebay the filters and other things on ebay as a package and get 50bucks or more

:iagree:I think $150.00 also is good asking price for tank, hood, stand, filters & gravel ect.

the deal breaker for me would be whether the stand was a nice one. If its one made of solid pine or even something stronger then you can you can charge more. IF its particle board then the stand really isnt worth more than 20 bucks.

I dont know what kind of wood it is, but I know its not partical board, its solid hard wood I bought at my lfs. (already made of course)

and yea ill post an add on craigslist and see what kind of offers I get, ill start out at $200, if no one answers, ill lower to $180 and so on.

since the total cost of all of this is more then $300, and the tank has only been in use since June.

yea i think you are referring to the pine stands that have the "oak" color stain to them. They are good stands, are attractive, and they arent cheap. You can easily get 200 for that whole setup. Personally I would start at 225.

hmm, you really think so.
I will try it out, and leave it for a few days, and lower it gradually if no one replies.

Well...

I couldn't go through with it, I had so many people asking about the ad I put up on Craigslist and then I just started staring at my tank and trying to imagine what it would be like with out it.

And man I just couldn't do it, shows how much I really love my fish :)
and besides, I've put too much time and money into my tank, would be a huge loss to sell everything.
