New aquisitions

Mostly I'm posting to get rid of the reminder up top that I've been lazy .

Found a couple things I've been wanting forever on Craigslist. Not a particularly outstanding deal, but I've been watching for a 5 gallon, something little to put on my bar so I can watch a betta swim around while I eat my cereal in the morning . I found this little 5 bowfront with lighted hood for $10, and then got it home to find out the bottom was cracked (hidden under gravel and I didn't think to lift it over my head to check :irked. Easy fix though, I had plexi left over from another project so I cut it to fit the bottom, dropped it in, sealed it up, and viola! The betta is nameless for the moment but I love his pastel iridescent rainbow colors. He also has a dark purple stripey briggs for company and some MTS. I used the substrate, filter floss, and plants from my 75 for an insta-cycle and I think it's lovely.

I also picked up a really nice, almost new, perfectly functioning sewing machine for $25 so now I can sew hammocks and tunnels and re-usable puppy pads for my ferrets. Woot!

Yea, I'm just glad I had the stuff around to fix it. Goes to show you can't trust everyone that says they have a water-tight tank for sale

Hmm...I've never named anything after cereal and Rainbow seems too feminine, even if I started calling him Bo I've known too many jerks with that name to ever really like it. I'm kind of leaning towards video game characters...Richter for the betta and Emil for the snail. I'm not sold on them yet though.
