American Eels

a few on NANFA have. They are the best escape artist. They will get out from opening for filters or heaters are any SMALL gap in the hood. Plus they can get 5 foot, but most get 3 foot max. I have caught them in the Potomac River at 2 feet all day long.
They are very cool, but very hard to keep, and forget about spawning them. Though they live in FW, they travel to the Atlantic for spawning.

any pics of them, cuz i wanted to keep some but ive never seen what they look like.

I always check out aqualand when I am looking up the care of semi-rare fish. Very useful but I cant exactly buy from there.

Yeah its a unique store. The guys that own it and work there are very knowledgable and helpful.... I haven't been there for a while but i was actually thinking about going this weekend. Haven't been there since a car crashed into their building. Hope they are still open.

I know this thread is old, but I have an American eel right now. He's very awesome. They're very hardy. If you can provide the space for one, I'd go for it. Just be aware that they are great escape artists!
