I put 30 of these teeny tiny babies in with my 60g RCS tank a few months back, They have gotten large and are not breeding and many are berried.

I noticed that all the malawa shrimp hang out on the left side of the tank glass. Not sure why they all group on only that glass, but they do. Has anyone else seen this?

I dont think they fight, since I see rcs there too sometimes, have yet to see a brawl, just a cute little clique it seems.

Mine seem to be pretty social with each other as well and move in groupings. They are neat little shrimp! Very active!

OKay, my malawa shrimp have at least tripled in population and many many are berried, they are very sweet shrimp:)

I noticed that some of them have white and black stripes, while others do not, regardless of sex, size, or berried.

They are actually segregating themselves it seems, at feeding times, two groups of malawa shrimp can be observed amongst the red cherry shrimp, malawa shrimp with stripes, and malawa shrimp with no stripes.

These shrimp are so sweet, I have them in my yellow shrimp tank and my red cherry tank, Im starting to think they need their own "species only" tank since its IMPOSSIBLE to seperate and catch any malawa shrimp amongst the other species, they seem to be much quicker than the RCS and yellows

I am very impressed with them, I have kept the ones from you in with my yellows, while daddy builds the new wall unit where I can integrate them. I can tell a difference in the behavior patterns of them and the ones in my rcs tank, they also have slight variations in appearance as well. I just love my shrimpies, I only sell the RCS to keep the populations down in my 60g, I just sold about 200 and finally am seeing lots and lots of new babies. Its like if they get too over populated, the young have low survival rates or something, havent figured it out yet, but Im just enjoying them right now:)

The ones from you have more of a blue color and are way more active, while my others are almost see-through, and hide very well at non-feeding times. All the Malawa shrimp I have breed real well, and Im sure in no-time they will be available everywhere like RCS
