Hello all, I recently began a 75g SA/CA cichlid tank and starting having some aggression issues -- mostly a honduran red point and salvini harassing my juvie red spot gold severum.

Thought about returning the hrp and the sal, but it will be a while before I can do that, so I just now executed Plan B: moved the sev (about 3") to my 55g African predator setup.

So now he's in with 9 congo tetras, 3 upsdie down cats, 3" leaf fish, 3.5" senegal bichir, and 4" ab knife. So far things are looking fine -- he's checking out the tank, the tetras and leaf are checking him out, others are doing their own thing...

Assuming things continue to work out, plan is to grow him out until he's bigger than the rest of the gang in the 75g and then put him back there where he'll have more room.

Wish me luck!

The severum should do fine in that tank.

Unless it gets aggressive towards the tankmates, you won't have any problems leaving it there.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Things look great so far, actually. Right now the sev, leaf, bichir, and tetras are all swimming around in a relaxed manner. Here's a pic:

I wouldnt expect any harm to the sev in your african tank. My leaf fish definitley is a curious one when new fish are added to a my tank!
