hello everyone,

I purchased a gorgeous pair of angelfish, but sadly they arrived and the male is dead. He was a platinum pearlscale angelfish, and he was easily palm size. I did not have a guarantee on them, because it was 2 days, but they were packed excellent.

I believe he died because the amonia spiked in his bag during transit as when he arrived he had bloody gills, and fins.

They were a proven pair!!! ( their babies are actually for sale on aquabid)

The female is a silver ghost pearlscale (with platinum gene), and she just got finished acclimating, and she is doing great. She also show a red tint, as well as a blue color.

Sadly, I am looking for another male angelfish for the female. She is easily 4", so the larger the male the better... I would prefer if someone in NC, or SC had a male angelfish, so I wouldn't have to pay overnight shipping.

I think another platinum, koi, smokey leopard, or a dark marble male for her might work, but other strains are def. considered as she needs a mate. Also, veil, or superveil is a plus. I will be willing to spend $8-$20 on the fish. The cheaper the cost the better since I just spent so much on trying to get this pair. I will pay all shipping cost.

Please help me out.

Pics are of the female. ( i will put a pic up of the male to show you what he looked like). He was stunning. ( the males photo will be taken from an auction where I bought him).

Thank you. I emailed a few members on aquabid to see if they had any proven male angelfish available. If I do not find one, I will def. pm her, as I know she had some very nice silver adult angelfish available.

Come to think about it, I have a friend that lost his female koi angel and has a large male I believe. The male he has left is not the best looking, but my 4 koi angels came from the pair and they are great! Size of the body is about 3+ inches, so I am not sure how well the male would ship.

Thanks so much. I am not to worried about what the angel looks like. I am just ready to get the female her new partner. How big is the angel in height? I just did not want to get him in, and he end up being smaller than the female. LOL!!!

I am so worried about shipping though : (

I found a male angelfish. I bought one from a member on aquabid, and she is going to send me a surprise strain, so I cannot wait to see what kind the angelfish will be. Once he arrives, I will post a pic of him, and the pair together. ( hopefully they will get along).

Thanks everyone.

I wish I would of knew earlier, because I was looking for albino pearl scale angelfish. I still might have to buy one. LOL!!!

Sent you a pm.

I feel your pain. Have 20 prs. and 14 are different so every time I try to break a pair or cross somebody I'm always ending up with a widow or widower. Tryin' to cross with some wilds now and it is a challenge. If you're interested in breeding I'd suggest joining TAS (The Angelfish Society) they have a genetics calculator that Popopsfish turned me onto and it is a huge help.

Lemme know if you run into compatibility issues 'cuz I may have a gold pearl or a platinum pearl that ends up lonely. The pearl gene needs to be present in both parents for the offspring to exhibit the trait.
Good luck.-j

LOL!!! Thanks. I bought a male angelfish and I hope she will warm up to him. I was trying to actually find an albino, or platinum pearlscale male to go with her, esp. since she is apearlscale angel. Instead I purchased a LARGE male angelfish from a member on aquabid, and she is sending a suprise strain, so I have no idea what kind this angelfish will be. As soon as I get him in, I will take a pic to show everyone what he looks like. Thanks so much for the reply.

LOL!!! Me too. I cannot wait to see what kind of angelfish she sends. I am hoping for a platinum angelfish, but as long as it is a male, and they get along great, I am happy.

If anyone wants to see, their are pics of all my angelfish pairs, and an update on the female angelfish in the photo gallery.

I wish you were closer to me here, I just brought back 37 angels as part of a batch from a hatchery shut down when I cut the deal on the guys set up for spring pick up. I have them in my 230g here. I would give you one of them, your pick even.

hope all turns well with your new male

Bad news guys. I got done acclimating him around 3:00 today, and I put him in the 30g breeder with the female, and they lip locked immed. He is chasing, biting, and is being highly agressive toward her. I thought he was going to kill her, so I put a divider between them. I will give it one more try tomm, and if it does not work out, he will have to find a new home. : (

Wow! Hopefully, they will get along and you won't have to rehome a fish you waited for. Maybe you can just let your gold marble have 2 women! LOL

well now if they don't pair up u'll have two lonely batchlers.

If they don't pair you could always look for him a mate too. LOL

Thanks. If it doesn't work it, I can either rehome the male, or try to get a group of about 5 or 6 females to see which one he likes. Or I can just let the gold marble spawn with both of the female angels and try to find the black angelfish another partner.

I think your gold marble will go for the last option.
