I'm a member of the APD list (Aquatic Plants Digest) and there is talk of some plants melting rotting and dieing with the use of Flourish Excel. Has there been any discussion of this here?

So did mine. And they really have not recovered. That was 6 months ago, when i added excel to treat algae.

Well, I found vals are sensitive to just about everything! Excel is one of them, hydrogen peroxide is another, and just about every medication except antibiotics. I only keep vals in one tank; I love the corkscrew vals! But, I hate to have to remove them when I treat for algae--just another undesirable task.

I don't think I have ever heard anyone claim vals are hardy in tanks under going most types of "treatments." And, algae is an ongoing problem here--it's gone, it's back, it's gone, etc.

TA
