I was at the LFS today and they had a tank full of "Zebra" Angelfish. They were awesome, but when I came home and googled them a different fish came up.

It looks nothing like the Zebra's on google. It looks more like a black snakeskin pattern. Like one of those cobra guppies. Any ideas?

It could potentially be.... AWESOME!

Did you get any? It could be a new strain, or something. Breed them! Don't be selfish!

Lol. I do like em. Trying to decide between another angel or GBR(s). Will see on Tuesday.

Yes! I think that's it. It looks like this which came up on google:

It's not the pretty blue like this guy, but I think it's just cause they are small. They were darker then this, but had a tinge of blueish green.

Wow, you should definitely get them. What tank are you planning on adding to? I'd definitely get those 2 angelfish some pretty lil' friends!

The pic above aren't my angels, just what came up on google pics.

If I get it I would be adding it to the 37g tank. Don't worry, I'm working on making room right now. Anyone in NY want a free Clown Pleco or two marbled Hatchets?

These are my two angels btw:

Marbled and Zebra Angelfish if I'm correct. Unless the smaller one is actually an altum, but I doubt it. I'm sure the chain store's don't carry them and they wouldn't mix them with the other angel if they did. My fav LFS actually has Altums, but at $30 each I don't think I'll be getting them.

Wanna split shipping to Washington for the hatchets? :)

Zip code? I'll look up the shipping real fast right now.

11385. I don't want to pay anything though.

Oh, okay. It's too much for me to pay on my own right now. You should find them a great home there in NY!

Just wondering, but are hatchets really good with Angelfish? My mom really likes the hatchetfish (I'm 13 and live with my mom, I know, sad, right? ;)) and I want to get some for her to put in with my angelfish in my 30 gallon.

I bought 8 and only 2 made it past 2 days. They either stay at the top looking for food or they swim with the harlequins. No problems with Angels.

I don't know if I would put any more angels in your 37 Gallon, not sure on the foot print of the tank, but 3 angels in there might end up a little crowded when they grow.

I agree adding more angels to the 37 could result in a disaster.

keep in mind that angels can be very territorial. this is particularly true if they are a 'pair'.
a 37 would only be enough room for the pair and no more angels.

adding more angels will increase the chances of a pair bond.

blemo, hatchets are very good tank mates for angels..but hatchets may require a few mods to the tank(full glass top comes to mind)

Star_Rider, I do have a glass top, but it hinges in the middle so I can get acces, there is a probably 1.5" open space in the back where I can't put the glass back any further because of the HOB filter. Would that be a problem? It never has been a problem before.

Also, I have a 30 gallon aquarium with 4 angelfish (waiting for 2 to pair off), what could I put in there so they aren't completely alone, the tank looks pretty barren right now.

Sweet angels. Hope you get them :)

a 30 with an adult pair can fill up fast. when an angel can be 6-10" tall with fins.(some species even taller -altums)

I keep bn's in my 29
I also place rams in the tanks at times. but this is with a pair of angels.

i hope you have a place for the un paired angels..if a pair forms up

Hatchets can jump so if you can minimize the space in the back it helps
