2 cute little percula clowns came home with me today. I was going to order them, but my wife had to have them. Ah well...
Pics when they get settled.

I am not the best picture taker in the world, but here they are. And as a bonus pic, a trumpet coral in feeding mode.

Ugh, bad nes. The clowns had brookynella and died. Now the tank can't have fish for at a minimum two more weeks... I'll probably keep it fallow for at least 4 more.

Ugh tough luck....any chance in getting a QT tank set up? If you're adding more than 1-2 fish into the main tank its an invaluable addition.

Working on that... We're actually thinking a sump tank with a separate filter that we can disconnect from the main tank when a QT or hospital tank is needed.

May be a bad idea. That would be a good observation tank, but unless you can take the sump out and/or remove all water, etc. because when you have sick fish (especially with Brooklynella), you are going to need potent medication.

This isn't a sure thing plan and I'm not going to build it tomorrow. The thought is that I have a smaller tank (8 gallons or so) with a filter (with LR rubble), a heater, small PH w/ sponge and a big thing of cheato. The display tank and the new tank are connected via pumps (connected to a UPS).
When a fish is sick or I need QT tank, then I stop the pumps, remove the hoses and move the fish or add the fish to the QT.
When they are done, then we reattach the hoses and pumps, slowly mix the water over a couple of days, then move the fish back to the display tank.
Thoughts?

The only thing i see is that, if you treat a fish with brook or ich or whatever in the marine tank, i know i would be completely disinfecting that tank before i connected it to the display tank. My qt was a 10gal with a sponge filter and a few chunks of LR, and an empty HOB for flow. You could always use it for a sump after the tank is stocked.
