Here's one of my RCS.
I've had a couple with eggs, but never find any babies in the tank.
Also I have these RCS in the same tank as some baby CRS.

i think your PH needs to come up a bit, they like it best with a PH of about 7.2 to 7.8.

is your tank fully cycled??? the babies may even just be good hiders but i think the problem is the PH

Yes tank is cycled.
I use Ada Soil, to counter act my PH 8.0 city water.
I will start to slowly raise the level back up again.

Do you think the baby CRS will mind the higher PH?

Steve

i think most shrimp would love a PH above 7.0, they have an exoskeleton and a higher PH can only help them protect themselves.

is your filter covered to keep babies from getting sucked in? do you have some sort of calcium supply in the tank. mothers will throw their eggs away if conditions aren't to their likings. mine seem to do better with some calcium in their tank. they also seem to have a lot more babies if i give them a couple small smooshed pond snails a few times a week. my babies usually don't hide that well. they like eating algea off the glass.

Thanks for the info, I will work on keeping my PH around 7.0.

I use sponge filters in all of my shrimp tank, so hopefully that's not the issue.

I do not use any sort of calcium that I know of.
I do use Mosura Old sea mud, and have Mosura Mineral Plus but haven't
use it yet.

Any other sources of calcium?
Oh WAIT how about "aragaMIGHT" I have that from my salt-water days.
It's calcium content is: 381,000 ppm
But also has: Carbonate, Strontium, Magnewsium and Potassium.

Steve

OK, raised the PH upto 6.8 today.

How fast would you raise the PH with the CRS in the same tank?
I've got two extremely pregnant RCS in this tank so, maybe so of these babies will survive?

Thanks,
Steve
