Are they capable of forming a nice carpet for the aquarium? I heard they can stick themselves to just about anything ( even gravel ). Is this true? Notice that I always use a question mark smilie whenever I have a question. Yeah, I know. I'm random.
Yep... java moss can attatch to the gravel. You can push down parts of it into the gravel and it'll do the rest on it's own. Keep in mind it'll take a while to attatch and you may have to keep burrying small parts if they pop up.
Hmmm. Well. Can they also spread from a rock to gravel? That would be really great if they did. I also have hornwort in the aquarium too. They stay in the very back though. How long does java moss get anyway? Just curious.
Yep, given the right conditions it will spread to everything in the tank if you let it. Don't know how "long" it'll get, but i think it'll just keep going as long as the conditions are appropriate.
I have just bought some javamoss myself, and am intending on using it as a carpet and growing it over some rock;
Uhmmm how do you trim it so that its managed?
And how would you use a gravel siphon when the gravels covered in moss?
