I haven't had problems keeping females together, especially in a tank that large.

I have kept 8 females in one 55G tank without a problem - that is excluding the first 4 hours ... they had to sort out their pecking order so don't get too stressed out if they act like males for a bit.
To tell you the truth, my females were the dominant ones compared to any of the males that were introduced. It's quite funny watching a male try take on a female then turn tail!!!
:)
You shouldn't have any problems.

It really depends on the personality of the female betta. I had one that was great with the other fish and another one that wreaked havoc in my 33 gallon. Just watch for fin nipping.
I have four females in a ten gallon and they get along fine with each other. They do flare quite a bit but don't fight. Like LittleLoach said they do tend to battle a little at first then settle down. I had them in a 29 gallon but when I tried to add some tetras they chased them so I isolated them to the 10.
