I wanted to start a discussion and get some opinions. My husband and I are having a disagreement over whether to run out and vaccinate our 3 kids, age 5,3, and 2 with the H1N1 vaccine.
I think, and my doctor told me the same thing, that the dangers of this flu have gotten blown way out of proportion by the media and others who want to scare the h*** out of the general public and send us all running to get shots. Now I am speaking of the flu strain that is going around Montana, Billings area in general. It is said to be mild here and my dr said she doesn't see any point to getting vaccinated as the cases aren't as bad as even the regular flu is.
My husband thinks they need the shots no matter what. I guess he's scared of them getting deathly ill, but they are healthy kids with healthy immune systems. I am more worried about the possible side effects and dangers of this "thrown-together" vaccine than I am the actual virus.
So, what does everyone else think and why? I'm curious.
