Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place...

Well, I was wondering if Decor River Rocks from Michaels - The Arts & Craft Store is safe for fish? Last time I was there the label stated that it was not to be used for Aquariums...Doesn't seem to be any chemicals added into the rocks before packaging and that is all I remember. :o

Not much info on the website.:irked:

The reason why I ask because the store is having a sale this week and which was 2.49 a bag is now 1.49 a bag.:)

Thank you for taking a look.

I get those same kind of rocks from the dollar store and use them in my aquarium without any side effects. I don't think the bag I had said anything about not using them for tanks.

maybe they have a coating on the rocks to make them shine?

I've bought river rocks from A.C.Moore, the packaging said nothing about not for aquariums, it just mentioned them being decorative rocks. I've used them for months and I haven't seen anything bad from using them. I'd say go buy them.

Well, I will stop by tomorrow and pick up a few and wait for other members to tune in. Even if I don't end up using them in the fish tank they do look nice for a miniature zen garden...

I believe you can buy the same type rock at Lowes or Home Depot in a natural untreated state in 50 Lbs bags for like $4.
