Hello,

Everyone has been waiting on a pic of the new male angelfish and he arrived today. The bad news is that he does not like the girl, so he may have to go to a new home. He is highly aggressive to anything that moves. LOL!!! He is black standard fin. ( He does have that bright green sheen on his face), but I am sure that will disappear later.

Also, I received my order of endlers today. They were puchased here on AC. I got ALOT, and the females had over 50 fry on the way to me. The females moved to fast to get a clear pic, so I was only able to get pics of the males. ( they were only 0.12 each). They are gorgeous!!!

beautiful fish! Sorry the male isn't interested in your female. Maybe he will come around once he has had time to settle from his long journey.

Thanks everyone. I actually have some good news. Somehow that female silver ghost got pass the divider, and they are getting along now. Both of them are expressing interest in each other. The male follows her around, and the female like him. Their is no fighting or no signs of aggression at all anymore. I am thinking that he was just so stressed from being shipped. ( i will get a pic of them in a few min.)

Thanks. Me too. :) I still kept the divider in just in case. I am not to sure on how old this angelfish is, but he is def. big. ( i paid a little over $38 for him, including shipping). He is prob. about 4-5" in diameter, and about 6-8" in height. Your angels are adorbale, and whenever your angelfish get older, they are going to be stunning.

HeHe :p: Thank you! My Angelfish greatly appreciate compliments, how doesn't talk to their fish?! Huh?!? Don't judge me!!

...:screwy:...

Hahaha, I hope my angelfish will be amazing when they grow up!

Just a question, how fast do angelfish grow? I've had mine for 7 months and their about 3-4", they were about quarter size when I bought them (How old is quarter size?).

You are welcome. Your angelfish are actually pretty good size for 7 months old. They will be pairing off soon.

Quarter size is typically around 3-4 months old, but some angelfish grow faster, and slow grow slower which is why you sometimes see dime and quarter size angelfish from the same spawn.

here is the pics of them. So far, so good. Their is no aggression still, so hopefully they will pair off and spawn.

Ohh, so you're a pretty legit breeder!

Like how soon will they start to pair off, cuz I wake up right when the lights go on, and I watch them for half an hour and THEN go to school, what are some easy signs that they are starting to pair off? I thought I only knew when they put out their breeding tube.

yeah. I have been breeding angelfish for almost 7 years now. Angelfish can actually pair off as early as 6 months old, but most do so around 7-8 months old. The best way to guarantee a pair, is buy 6-9 baby angelfish and grow them out. 99% of the time you will get at least 1 pair. Some signs of pairing off is that you will see quite a bit of fighting with the males. If the fish are going to pair you will see the males follow the females around the tank, and almost stay and swim beside each other 24/7. Sometimes the female will follow the male. Once they pair off, they will typically choose a spawning site ( slate, rock, or plant leaf). They will start cleaning off the spawning site for 2-3 days, and then they will actually spawn. ( some pairs will do pratice runs too). It is true though, that the best way to sex an angelfish is to see their breeding tubes. Although most of the time, a male angelfish will have a large hump on the crown ( head) area.

1) Can I have that PM too?

2) I don't have any REALLY vertical slate? Is that gunna be a problem?

3) I bought 8 angelfish, and they are probably 10-11 months old, does this mean it's too late? I only have 4 left, the other 4 died of other causes, like fights and stuff, one actually got completely eaten. :(
