Yep, ANOTHER stocking question from me, lol.

Alright so here's the setup:

55 gal, with live plants, heater, tahitian moon sand, some driftwood, 2 filters (aquaclear 70, and fluval 305).

I currently have a stock of:
15 neon tetra
5 balloon molly
1 powder blue dwarf gourami (he's new... LOVE him!)
1 zebra nerite snail
5 albino cory catfish
4 julii cory catfish

I plan to bump the cories up to 6 each and will probably do so tomorrow (get 1 albino, 2 julii's).

I had planned on getting some chain loaches or another small type of loach to help control my pond snail population but no store around here will order them for me. I had a clown loach get rid of most of them, but I returned him pretty much right away because I was worried he was already too big for my tank and would die or something.

Anyhow, the snails SEEM to be under control but I am monitoring it daily. ( I should also mention that if I need to, I will move the cool snail (the nerite, who I WANT) to my 5gallon betta tank which was his original home)

I am wondering if I am fully stocked at this point? Or is there another fish or school of fish I could add to my tank and if so, what would you suggest?

As always, look forward to the informed responses I get here! :)

The stock seems pretty good, imo. Keep it up!

I think your stocking is fine. I don't think it's a good idea to get a loach just for snail control. If you add a fish you should get one because you like them. Here's a good article on controlling snails:

Basically the best advise is not not over feed and the population will take care of itself.

And, if you really are intent in getting rid of snails, put a piece of lettuce or zucchini on the bottom of your tank overnight, then dispose of the snails (there will be many) attached to it on the next day. Good luck.

I agree^^^

Plus, sids are not all that good with snails IME. I just added some MTS the other day and they picked at them for a second, then lost interest. I spoke with Deb (pinkertd) and she hasn't found them to be very fascinated with snails either.

what about an assassin snail?
I like the looks of them and if they helped curb the pond population, well, bonus!:)
But I'm not totally concerned about the snails. I mainly want input on if I could add another fish or school of fish and if so what?
