Pterygoplichthys Joselimaianus With Very Strange Cuts...??? Help!

I have a 4IN Pleco, he has lived with the same driftwood and rocks with no issues. I just moved him into the new 120g, just sand, plants and same 2 rocks and wood. Wtf is wrong with him and how do I fix it?? Last time I saw him was 2 days ago and he was fine. He is still acting like his normal self.
'Mustangboy' tried to help me, but with no luck.

Tankmates?

Possibly wounds inflicted by another pleco. When they fight the jab each other in the guts with the defensive spines on each side of their head.

Just a theory.

Are there any spots on the wood sharp enough to cut him up? Were there any major differences between the two setups?

For now I would just keep the water as clean as possible.

Pretty much exactly the same, only difference is that there is now more swimming space in the middle. Woods fine, rocks can b a bit pointy, but he's lived with them for 3mo+ w/o an issue.
