heater question

i got a 200 watt visa-therm heater ith my 55g tank and heard many bad things about them over heating and it kinda makes me scared so i have an extra 100 watt tronic which i trust cuz ive had two and had no problems for years. So i was wondering since im waiting for my other 100 watt tronic in the mail if 1 100 watt heater will work for my 55 till it comes? I dont wanna fry my fish.

depending on your room temperature, the 100watt tronic will handle your 55g if your room temp is over 18* C

200w on a 55g is fine. i have visitherms. no problems ever. heater = good. most agree. if you don't trust it (you really should!), a 100w will likely struggle and stay on constantly alone in a 55g unless you room temp is within...just a guess...5 degrees of you tank target temp. must sleep...now...
