Two of my clown loaches are displaying signs of "skinny disease" or knifeback as it is also called. Have read many treatment strategies but still a little unsure of the best/most efficient method. I have had these loaches almost 7 years! Thanks for your help!

I am facing the same issue...

I quarantined the little guy to a breeder net until i can figure out if he will make it. I am feeding high protein foods like mosquito larvae and bloodworm until he can make progress.

If it's a parasite i may be too late..

Loss of weight can be caused by several pathogens. A variety of internal parasites can cause wasting as can Mycobacterial infections. If a positive id isn't possible I'd suggest the following course of treatment. For internal parasites praziquantel combined with metronidazole and flubendazole in the food. I believe that Jungle's parasite product contains all of these. For Mycobacteria minocycline (Maracyn II) in the water. Mycobacteria are difficult to cure and can infect you, so if you have any cuts or scratches on your hands gloves are in order.

Yea.. I don't normally pay much attention to Jungles but i see they have what I need. You can easily find that in your local wal-mart or pet store/lfs... Going to get some tomorrow

Hope things work out for both of you. Just took a good look at your avatar Scott. Very nice! I have a bottle right now, along with a bottle of the Double Wood. Have you ever tried it or the Port Wood? Really good stuff!
