Well, I'm about to aquire a 125g tank, and plan to move it in a truckbed. I know tanks' seams can easily be damaged or unsealed with movement and rough handling. Has anyone moved large tanks before, and if so, what extra precautions did you use? I'm thinking an overdose of blankets and cushions + very secure ropes will do the trick, but I'd rather not learn things the hard and expensive way. Thanks in advance.

I've helped move my friends 180g tank, and we used a pickup truck for it. All we did to pad it was use some old bed comforters to wrap underneath it and place some pillows inside it. It survived the ~ 30 minute ride just fine.

The hardest part about moving it was the weight of it, we had three people including myself, and it was a *****. All of us are 6 feet + and 180 lb+, but the tank was absolute hell. Next time I move a tank that size I'm calling some more friends from my rugby team :D

:D Yes try and get 3-4 people to help you. I just moved my 120 in to my house GRUNT It was heavy. Its always better to have one extra guy than one less ( he can always hold the door for you):D
