A while back when I picked up my 300g tank and cut a deal on a fish hatchery, I came back with all of his breeding stock. This comprised of many adult angels.

I decided to put them up for sale but have also kept back the pure black, blue black and dark marble.

My ? is are black angels more expensive or harder to get ahold of?

I will take some pics of the angels for you to see and post them later

Almost every LFS i've been in has a lot of black angels. It really depends on what kind of Angel (Fancy or Veil) and coverage of black (Some have a touch of grey and others don't).

Some say the blacks are more difficult to keep, however this has not been my experience.

true black angels are harder to keep because of breeding lines, but black lace angels (which is what you usually see in the LFS) are just as easy to keep and just as valuable as any other pair.

i believe Rich has a fully grown true black veil angel, rather than a black lace.

thanks pink

a few of them had very ragged fins when I picked them up he had moved almost all of the fish into the 430g for shut down and it was african, angels and live bearers and the africans were taking fin shots.

I plan to keep at least 10 of them for myself for breeding stock.

I was actually on here looking for the same answer about the black angelfish. I got one from the pet store I work at and have never seen one there before (worked there over 5 years). My angel is completely black with orange eyes. I have had him for 6 months now. But when I search about black angelfish I come up with nothing.

Just found on google that it might be a Black Lace Angelfish
